Graebel, a Colorado-based company, provides full relocation management services worldwide. The company’s commitment to ongoing education was formalized in 1999, when the company created Graebel University as a means to train and certify its national workforce.
Graebel University Online, launched in April, takes this initiative to the next level through its ability to integrate and blend online training with existing corporate education and development programs. One unique feature of this campus is the ability to offer custom courses designed not only to train employees, but also to educate the company’s contractors and global alliance partners on Graebel’s processes and systems.
Through the University, Graebel demonstrates its strong, continuing belief in lifelong learning. |

Founded in 1927, the Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) is a membership organization of 380 municipalities providing cities with a number of services including insurance, loss control and employee benefits, training and education, and legislative advocacy.
KLC wished to augment its existing training programs with online training targeted to its member entities. Its new campus, to be officially launched in July, will feature specific areas designed for typical city departments, such as fire, police, EMS, public works, parks and recreation, and administration and general office.
A unique component makes customized training available to elected public officials. This is an ideal way for municipalities to bring individuals up to speed quickly on important issues facing local governments. |

Do you do business in the state of California? If so, what you don’t know could hurt your company. California law (AB 1825) requires that any employer with 50 or more employees, temporary workers, agents or contractors, regardless of location, shall provide two hours of specific sexual harassment training to all supervisory employees once every two years and must document training to prove compliance.
FirstNet Learning’s CA Sexual Harassment Course for Supervisors (AB09) meets all legal standards required by the state of California. For employers in other states, FirstNet Learning offers Sexual Harassment – General (SE09). To learn more about these and other new courses contact us.

It soon will be summer, which means a large number of inexperienced workers will be joining the labor force. According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, over 200,000 teenagers experience nonfatal occupational injuries each year.
|
It is not too early for employers to review their safety procedures. A comprehensive safety program is OSHA-compliant, accounts for seasonal as well as full-time employees, includes appropriate response measures, and provides safety training to help prevent workplace injuries. A formal new employee orientation process is an ideal way to get seasonal and temporary employees up-to-speed quickly.
FirstNet Learning offers a free course that trains workers to recognize and protect against outdoor hazards such as sun exposure, heat, ticks, West Nile virus and poisonous plants. Contact us to add “Working Outdoors in Warm Weather” (WO10) to your FirstNet Learning training campus. Visit the links below for more information from NIOSH and OSHA.

Ruth Unks, Risk Manager of Maricopa Community College District in Tempe, Arizona requires a two-step process before an employee can check out a school district vehicle.
