| eGovernment Roundtable Web Seminar |
 |
Government agencies are the largest employers in the USA, and are investing up to three times more on technology-enabled learning than their corporate counterparts.
Join us at this complimentary web seminar on July 16th at 10:30 AM PT and discover what programs these agencies are deploying and new resources you can tap for your agency.
Dr. Anders Gronstedt, President of Gronstedt Group, hosts Jay Allen, Program Manager from the Department of Homeland Security, and Paulette Robinson from National Defense University. The DHS has launched an agency-wide initiative called "DHS-Covery." Hear how this program was launched, lessons learned and program results. Discover the "right" turns you should make when planning, implementing and deploying e-learning within a public agency.
Dr. Gronstedt and Dr. Paulette Robinson will then share how Virtual Worlds are being leveraged by the public sector. Dr. Robinson, as Director of the Federal Consortium on Virtual Worlds, will review a library of applications and resources to tap for your immersive learning initiative.
Register today for this complimentary learning event, and receive a free copy of the "Government E-learning! User Study 2009."

| Military Health System Adds Social Networking |
 |
The Military Health System (MHS) has added social networking tools including Twitter, MySpace and YouTube in a push to engage more of the individuals it serves - 18- to 24-year-olds.
To lure more of the younger troops to its Website, MHS started using Twitter in March, setting up its "healthdotmil" feed.
Consultants say that young troops prefer to access their information from media-rich sites rather than sites heavy in text, which they are more likely to view as boring.
The agency also uses sites such as YouTube to reach to the younger age group with videos on subjects ranging from prosthetic legs to golf therapy clinics for combat-wounded veterans to a short profile of an occupational therapist who works with combat-wounded veterans.
